Drones: Design and Build

Future generation must be trained on STEM and it must start in early year. There is tons of research done suggesting the current educational trends lack this early training. We have enriched our regular courses with STEM. In addition, we encourage STEM through various programs and workshops. These options are mostly available to our full-time students. However, we do accept part-time students interested in our Tech workshops.

Build and Fly your own DRONE!

Here at Toronto STEM School, we do our Drone Engineering Workshops. TSS’ workshops are for students interested in learning how the concepts studied in the classroom can be applied in the real world.

Program Outline:

This course is a comprehensive dive into the world of unmanned aerial systems with a particular focus on the hottest growing sport of drone-racing. Students will acquire both practical and technical skills with regards to how a drone operates, all its key components, flight-programming, and electrical engineering. Students will also have an opportunity to build their very own racing drone, understand its inner workings, engineer and tune its software, and more importantly, learn how to fly and operate their machine safely.  At the end of the course, the students will have a thorough understanding of the role of each part and component of the drone, know how to program the software and test it in the real world, and learn best practices of flying and drone safety tips. Students will take home the racing drone that they built and can continue to apply their knowledge for fine-tuning and experience endless hours of flying fun.
